Aviation is much more than the ability to get an aircraft off the ground. Every confident take-off is backed by hours of training, an understanding of how the aircraft works, knowledge of its capabilities and limits, and the ability to make decisions and stay calm in all kinds of situations. That is exactly why we created Yakovlev Academy.
The full name of the community is “A. S. Yakovlev Military Aviation Academy of the Russian Armed Forces”. Despite the style and the name, the Academy has nothing to do with the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation and is a fully independent fictional project.
The Academy’s main goal is to make aviation understandable, accessible and genuinely exciting. We don’t require role-play and don’t force complicated formalities on anyone. For us, realism is a tool, not an end in itself.
