For newcomers
Can I take part without VR?
Yes. All instructors can teach desktop players.
Do I need any prior skills?
No. We’ll teach you from scratch — you don’t need to know or be able to do anything in advance.
Is there an age limit?
14+, with possible exceptions. The limit is mainly there to filter out people who can’t behave around others.
Can I come to an event without joining the group?
Yes. Joining the VRChat group is not required.
Can I bring friends and other communities?
Yes. “Community friends” are representatives of other communities who want to work with us.
Flight Wednesday
Which world is Flight Wednesday held in?
A different world every time. Where the next one will be is not known in advance.
How long does Flight Wednesday last?
2 hours.
Uniform
Do I need a service avatar?
Uniform is mandatory only for organizers and instructors. For everyone else it’s optional.
Where do I get the uniform and patches?
On Google Drive. The uniform is not fitted to every avatar base: if there is none for your base, you’ll have to fit it yourself. The requirements are in the avatar rules.
Ranks and training
What rank do I get when I join?
“Cadet, 2nd class” — right when you join. The full rank ladder is on the “For members” page.
How do I pass the Pilot exam?
The exam is a mandatory step for promotion. In a dogfight you have to shoot down an instructor pilot with your gun; the instructor doesn’t shoot back and doesn’t try to destroy you in any way.
Any instructor of your choice can run the exam. There is no theory part: being admitted to the exam already means you have mastered all types of aircraft and weapons.
How do I become an instructor?
Anyone with the rank of Pilot or higher can become an instructor. Write on Discord and mention @Weden19.
How do I get promoted in the infantry?
Based on your service record. Show that you are a capable and responsible soldier and you will be promoted. A new rank brings new rights and new duties.
How do I join the organizers?
You need to train up to the rank of Pilot or higher and show leadership or other useful skills. Promotion to junior organizer is decided at an organizers’ meeting.
Rules and contact
Where do I report a violation or appeal a punishment?
On Discord mention @Организационный состав (Organizational staff). At events you can go to any member of the Guard Company — they act as moderators.
